Account and data deletion

1. How to delete your account in the app
Open StepBattle → Settings → Delete account → confirm. Deletion starts immediately, you do not need to contact us and there is no waiting period. The app asks you to confirm because the operation is permanent and cannot be undone.
2. What data is deleted
Permanently deleted: your account and sign-in data (name, email, hashed password, Google/Facebook/Apple connection), profile photo, your entire history of steps, hours, floors and distance, unlocked achievements, activity streaks, participation in duels, teams and competitions, friendships, messages sent in chat, the installation identifier and the push notification identifier, along with any approximate coordinates stored for place- and weather-based achievements.
3. What is kept and for how long
Database backups are overwritten within at most 30 days, after which no trace of your data remains. Separately, for the period required by tax and accounting law, we keep only the invoicing records for any paid Premium subscription, this is a legal obligation and cannot be deleted on request. Abuse or moderation reports may be kept in anonymised form, without data that identifies you, for the safety of other users.
4. Premium subscription
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. Subscriptions are managed by Google Play, so cancel it first from Google Play → Subscriptions → StepBattle. Otherwise the payment will renew even though your account no longer exists.
5. If you no longer have access to the app
If you uninstalled the app, lost your phone or can no longer sign in, send us a deletion request from the email address you used to create the account, at contact@stepbattleapp.com. We confirm your identity and delete the account within at most 30 days of the request, usually within a few working days. We will never ask you for your password.
6. Other rights
Before deleting, you can request a copy of your data in a structured format (JSON/CSV) by writing to contact@stepbattleapp.com. Details about all your rights are in the GDPR page and in the Privacy Policy.
