Terms and Conditions

1. Accepting the terms

Using StepBattle means fully accepting these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Service. Continuing to use the Service after an update to the terms means you accept the updated version.

2. Description of the service

StepBattle is a social fitness app: it counts your daily steps and lets you compete with friends in 1-on-1 duels, team battles and competitions, unlock achievements and track statistics and activity streaks. The Service is provided "as is"; we reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue features, with reasonable prior notice where possible.

3. Your account

You need an account to use the app, created with email and password or via Google/Facebook/Apple sign-in. The Service is intended for people aged 13 or older; users between 13 and 16 need the consent of a parent or legal guardian. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity in your account. One account per person; accounts created by bots or for abusive purposes will be deleted.

4. Step and health data

Steps are measured by your phone's sensor (pedometer) and/or read from Health Connect (Android), where wearables (Garmin, Samsung, etc.) may also write. Accuracy depends on your device's hardware and software and is not guaranteed. StepBattle is a motivation and entertainment tool, it is NOT a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Consult a doctor before starting an exercise program.

5. Conduct and fair play

Competitions only work if everyone plays fair. It is forbidden to: fake steps (shaking the phone, simulation devices, tampering with data), use multiple or fake accounts, harass other users in chat, or use the Service for illegal purposes. Breaking these rules can lead to disqualification from competitions, suspension or deletion of the account.

6. StepBattle Premium (subscriptions)

We offer an optional Premium subscription that removes ads: Monthly (5.99 RON, approx. €1.12 per month), Yearly (29.99 RON, approx. €5.61 per year) and Lifetime (59.99 RON, approx. €11.22, one-time payment). Payment is made exclusively through Google Play (or the App Store on iOS), which processes the transaction and stores payment details, we never see your card data. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, which you can do at any time from the store settings (Google Play → Subscriptions). Refunds follow the policy of the store you paid through.

7. Advertising

Users without Premium see ads served through Google AdMob (banner and, occasionally, interstitials). Ads appear only after a grace period from installation. Your health data is never used for ad targeting.

8. Intellectual property and termination

The StepBattle app, design, logo and content belong to us and are protected by copyright law. You can delete your account at any time directly from the app (Settings → Delete account), deletion is permanent and includes your activity data. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses arising from use of the Service, for inaccurate step data provided by your device, or for temporary unavailability of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits the rights granted to you by consumer-protection legislation.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by Romanian law; disputes fall under the jurisdiction of Romanian courts, without affecting your consumer rights. For any questions: contact@stepbattleapp.com.
