Cookie Policy
Version 1.2 · in force since August 15, 2026
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser at a website's request. Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage, used by web apps to remember local state.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
We use essential cookies without which the service cannot work: the session cookie (keeps you signed in), the CSRF cookie (protects forms against attacks) and the "remember me" cookie (so you stay signed in between sessions). Under the law, these do not require consent.
3. Preferences
We remember your interface preferences locally: theme (light/dark) and chosen language. These stay on your device.
4. Local storage in the app
The mobile app uses localStorage for functional state: the installation identifier, the installation date (for the ad grace period), banner state and ad counters. These are not used for cross-app tracking.
5. What we do NOT use
On the public website we use no third-party analytics or tracking cookies. In the app, the only third-party SDK with its own identifier is Google AdMob (non-Premium users only), see the Privacy Policy.
6. How you control them
You can delete cookies from your browser settings; deleting the essential ones will sign you out. For personalized ads you can use Android's "Delete advertising ID" setting. Questions: contact@stepbattleapp.com.
